Preperation Process

At Performance Powder Coating we do not use a single step approach to pre-coating preparation. Depending on the part, we will mechanically abrade, iron phosphate, wash or in the case of aluminum, we will acid wash and chromate the part, prior to coating for complete adhesion.

Masking is also a very important step in the process. All machined surfaces and high tolerance areas are masked with a powder grade high quality masking. On taps, threads, and bores we will use high temperature silicone plugs and protectors.
